My Thursday Thirteen today has to do with cooking, celebrity chefs and becoming a foodie. When I was younger the "joy of cooking" wasn't the hot trend it is now. You were either a Suzy Homemaker, a professional chef or a lousy cook - the word foodie hadn't been invented. We did have a few cooking shows located on public access television but if you told us there would one day be a whole network devoted to cooking and food I doubt we would have believed you! I am not sure if any of you all watch this or not but let me tell you this is one of my favorite shows. I have watched this every since the middle of the first season. I say the middle because I was not aware of it the first season and found out about the show while Chanel surfing. Hell's Kitchen is a T.V. show on the Fox network which pits chef against chef in a wildly exploited cooking show. Now while I like Top Chef and The Next Food Star Hells Kitchen is not a cooking show of that variet

England has Gordon Ramsey. America has Rachael Ray. Sanjeev Kapoor is a famous chef from India. He was on the Rachael Ray show today. We all know Rachael does 15 and 30 minute meals. Sanjeev Kapoor has a 1 minute meal ! How cool is that? It's EVOO, mustard seed, cumin seed, shrimp butterflied, rice, cilantro, mint, tomato pickle, and lime juice. Pretty simple and healthy.
