Snatched Snake in Tagged Tracking
Thieves in Australia who stole a 2m carpet python from a Department of Environment and Conservation research centre could not have had worse luck. The snake had just finished eating a wild woylie (an endangered marsupial fitted with a tracking device) when it was stolen. Police and scientists worked with the air force to track the signal from the air. Sergeant Damian Ellson said, ’It’s fair to say the people were shocked when we turned up. They had no idea the snake had a tracking device
